Our sweaters aren’t made just anywhere. They’re made close to home, at the IDM Vocational Training Centre in Thun, Switzerland. Today, we’re taking you behind the scenes and into the workshop, where a piece of fabric is transformed into a finished sweater, one step at a time.
What is IDM?
IDM is a vocational training centre in Thun where young people learn their craft from the ground up. It trains aspiring garment designers (EFZ) as well as garment machinists (EBA).
What makes it special is that the workshop serves both as a training environment and a real production facility. The apprentices don’t just practise on sample pieces that end up in a drawer. They work on real orders, creating garments that will eventually be worn by real people. With every order, they develop their skills and take pride in their own work.
Why we produce here
For us, this is the perfect combination. We want our clothing to be made locally and under fair conditions, while also supporting the next generation in a craft that is becoming increasingly rare in Switzerland.
So when you wear one of our sweaters, you’re not just wearing a quality garment. You’re also wearing the work and dedication of young people learning their trade right here. 💚
A big thank you to the entire IDM team for the great collaboration!
