Sometimes, something good starts with two friends, a shared passion for the outdoors and a beer. The idea came quickly: we wanted to create a sweater that works as effortlessly as we like to move through life.

Who we are

faluun grew out of a friendship.

We’re Adrian and Severin — two friends from Bern who have been spending time outdoors for years. On bikes, on foot, in the mountains or simply somewhere outside where the day can last a little longer.

For some time, we had been thinking about creating something that brings together our passion for the outdoors, good design and functional products.

The idea was simple: a lightweight, functional sweater that feels just as good on the move as it does in everyday life. Breathable, warm and uncomplicated — and light and compact enough to take with you wherever you go.

Our journey

From the beginning, it was important to us not only to develop a sweater, but also to know how and with whom it was made. As locally as possible, with short distances and people who know their craft.

That’s how we met Ali, a tailor from Bern. Together, we spent almost a year developing the fit, testing different versions and questioning every detail.

Not everything worked right away. That was part of the process. Over tea and dates, we discussed, experimented, laughed and kept refining. With decades of experience as a tailor, Ali helped us turn our idea into a sweater that really works.

Once the sweater was finally the way we wanted it, it was time to think about production. Here too, we wanted to stay as local as possible.

That’s how we connected with Nähwerk IDM in Thun. After a few conversations, it quickly became clear that we had found the right production partner for the faluun Sweater.

From the first idea and countless prototypes to the finished sweater — developed in Bern and produced in Thun.

Small-scale, local and crafted with care.

And if you want to dive a little deeper into our story, the development of the sweater and everything that goes on behind the scenes, you’ll find more insights on our Blog.
